Caro Winter Fest and Snowmobile Races
Get Ready for Some Wintertime Fun and Racing Excitement!
Grab your winter coat, mittens, and hat. Put on a warm pair of socks and your winter boots. Load the family in the car and head to Caro for a weekend of family fun and heart-pounding excitement at the Caro Winter Fest and Snowmobile Races.
Held annually in January, the event kicks off Friday night as racing teams cruise into town to enjoy local entertainment and community-wide specials as they prepare for a weekend of wintertime fun and racing excitement.
The fun heats up on Saturday as fans and race teams head to the Tuscola County Fairgrounds for racing fun on the ice track and festival fun in the warming tent, where there is live entertainment, silent auction, vendor booths, concessions, shirt sales, Penelope’s Beer & Wine Ice Bar, chainsaw carving competition, vendor booths, and much more. And each year there is a special raffle as well.
Plus, you never know who you might find wandering around … Like Penelope the Penguin – Event Mascot for the Caro 150 Winter Fest! Kids love seeing her as she’s usually carrying a bag of candy with her. She’s always happy to hang out with them and is available for pictures as well.
Your heart will skip a beat as you sit on the edge of your seat in the grandstands watching the racers fly around the track. Saturday’s races feature the following classes: Champ 440, Limited 500, Semi Pro Stock 600, Semi Pro 600 Open, 600 Open, Pro Enduro Shootout, Juniors, and Semi Pro Enduro. On Sunday, the day starts with the Kitty Kat races followed by a driver meet-n-greet on the track and then the 150 mile Enduro race. The professional snowmobile racing is overseen by the Midwest International Racing Association (MIRA) and includes teams from all over the state and beyond.
And just in case you’re wondering, we don’t need snow for our event. Of course, we always hope for lots of snow to enhance the wintertime experience but all we need is cooler temps to keep our ice track frozen for the racing excitement.
