Lake St. Clair Metropark is a unit of the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority.

Whatever your favorite recreational activity, whether it’s bird watching, windsurfing, kiteboarding, boating, bicycling, or swimming, you can pursue it at Lake St. Clair Metropark. A popular destination just a short distance from Mt. Clemens, come out to bike, hike, jog, or in-line skate on the paved trail that takes you along a one-mile shoreline on picturesque Lake St. Clair. Enjoy a day of boating with three marinas and eight ramps that provide easy access to Lake St. Clair waters. During the summertime, stay comfortable in an Olympic-sized swimming pool with waterslides, the Squirt Zone spray ground and a 1,000 foot-long sandy beach on Lake St. Clair. In the winter, enjoy ice-fishing for perch and panfish, cross-country skiing on groomed trails, a game of ice hockey or ice skating outdoors with friends and family.

Lakeside, walk along a 1,600 foot boardwalk overlooking the one-mile shoreline. On the nature trails, hike through meadows, marshland or a grove of cottonwood trees while you observe wildlife and waterfowl. Together, the wetlands and lake shoreline make this a top bird-watching site, with more than 230 commonly-seen species. Explore Metro Beach Metropark’s nature center and trails, play the par-3 golf course, or Shipwreck Lagoon Adventure Golf at your next picnic. Come throughout the year to enjoy the beauty of 770-acre Lake St. Clair Metropark.

Michigan’s $10 Recreation Passport, purchased for your Michigan license plate, allows entry into all Michigan state parks. The Huron-Clinton Metroparks is a separate regional park system, and requires its own entry permit.

Lake St. Clair Metropark is a public park that is one of 13 parks operated by the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority. Lake St. Clair Metropark is open to the public 365 days each year and offers both abundant natural area and developed recreation facilities. Leisure enthusiasts can enjoy breathtaking views of Lake St. Clair, distant perspectives of the downtown skyline and the gaze upon the shipping channel tra…ffic on the horizon. The park offers quiet, tranquil locations for nature viewing as well as perfect green space for picnic and group parties.

Seasonal special events draw people from all over the State and region during the park’s greener season while winter seasons offer outdoor enthusiasts for fishing, skiing and skating. All paved walks are maintained year round for exercise and accessing the shoreline and its awesome beauty.

A fully staffed Nature Center offers educational programs year round and hosts many interpretive festivals and events. The Center is open daily and a professional naturalist can always provide details and insight on the latest wildlife sightings and where spectators might find them. Some seasonal wildlife migrations can be seen in and around Metro Beach. The Nature Center is the ideal place to learn more about when and where to witness these wonders.

Lake St. Clair Metropark is a State Harbor of refuge and the park offers transient dockage for more than 200 boats. Dockage with full utilities and without are available while navigable water is present. Some dockage is available to reserve by phone and web. Boaters that dock at Lake St. Clair Metropark enjoy access to many recreation facilities including golf, swimming, tennis and court games. A food court provides convenient dining opportunities and shuttle bus service is available to those who wish to dine out.
